Description
Cavelossim beach is one of the last major settlements in southwest Salcete is situated 11 km south of Colva. The beach is the southernmost beach of the Salcete subdivision that is located 7 km south of Varca. Situated in between the Arabian Sea and the Sal River, the Cavelossim beach looks extremely beautiful with the paddy fields in the backdrop and simply creates a lovely ambiance. The contrast colors of the black lava rocks along with the white sand simply add its own splendor to this beach. It's a perfect destination in Goa that makes the beach vacation extremely pleasant and wonderful for globetrotters. It's an unstrained seaside village in southern Goa that is surrounded by few shack restaurants along the water, where on the other side the main road is lined up with market stalls and known as an abode of holy place-the cream & yellow Church of the Holy Cross. Goa Cavelossim beach is filled with soft white sands and doted with black lava rocks at certain places.
This beach is much bigger and cleaner and quieter than most of the famous beaches in Goa because of which it manages to attract many tourists, There are several beach shacks offering a variety of Goan dishes and seafood at reasonable price. There are a lot of luxury resorts on both sides of the main road and just behind these runs the River Sal. Some places offer water sports on the Sal River as well as a fishing trip in the sea, dolphin viewing or bird-watching. Near the mouth of the river, Sal one can see a lot of men collecting oysters, mussels, and clams from the river silt during the low tide. One can also try go-karting near the seashore. There are a number of multi-cuisine restaurants that specialize in seafood, Goan cuisine and grill vegetarian dishes. There are also many places to shop for books, trendy clothes, and other souvenirs.
Tips
- Shacks and water sport available at decent prices.
- There is a water sports equipment rental shop in it which provides everything necessary.
