Description
One of the largest design destination in Asia, the Red Dot Design Museum in Singapore is a cultural landmark in its own right. The Red Dot Design Award is an international award for either Product Design, Communication Design or Design Concepts. Awarded by the German company Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, the winning designs are displayed in only 1 of 2 museums worldwide, of which Red Dot Design Museum Singapore is one of them. Every single exhibit on display in the Red Dot Design Museum Singapore is an award-winning exhibit. These award-winning exhibits include furniture, construction materials, electronics, computer peripherals, artwork, product packaging, household items, office equipment, and more. the Museum exhibits over 1000 award-winning works hailing from the prestigious Red Dot Awards while hosting regular creative activities.
Red Dot Design Museum Singapore also has a series of interactive multi-media Design Kiosks, which feature the award-winning Design Concepts. Covering many different categories of design, they all focus on possible enhancements or innovation in products and processes using design.
The Museum has hosted Singapore Indesign since the latter’s inception in 2011, and continues the tradition this year. On 9 and 10 July 2015, visitors can visit the Red Dot Design Museum, which makes up one half of the event (the other half being the National Design Museum), to access a rich variety of commercial suppliers from near and far, as well as specially created The Project installations.
