Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Sanguem Taluka of South Eastern Goa.located about 45 km from Margao railway station and Panaji is 75 km from Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary. The government of Goa declared Netravali as a wildlife sanctuary to protect its Western Ghat range. It covers an area of 211 sq. km is connected to the Madei Wildlife Sanctuary and together they cover an area of 420 sq. km. The Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary is named after the tributary Netravali or Neturli of the Zuari river which is an important source of fresh water in this area. The Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary which is an extremely significant source of fresh water is known to be named after the Netravali or Neturli which is an important tributary of the Zuari River. One can also see a high range of mountains here which the local habitats consider religious and which are of socio-cultural importance to them.
To the north of the Netravali wildlife sanctuary lies the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary lies to its south. Some of the wildlife found here are the Great Pied Hornbills, Black Panther, Slender Loris, and the Giant Squirrel. Also, a number of many other animals are found. the flora of this area is dominated by moist-deciduous forest interspersed with semi-evergreen and evergreen trees. The main feature of the Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary is its fauna which lists black panthers, king cobras, giant squirrels, Great Pied Hornbills, and Slender Loris. Only recently Netravali was declared as a wildlife sanctuary by the government of Goa. The tourism department of Goa also takes care of the forest rest house along with food. Thus it is an ideal place to spot creatures of the wild in their natural habitat. The Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary is also surrounded by a high range of mountains which is considered as religiously very important by the local habitats

Be prepared for an abundance of nature and thick dense forestation along your drive. Netravali has gained a reputation for its stunning forestation and diverse wildlife. You will also see a high range of mountains here which the local habitants consider religious and which are of socio-cultural importance to them. You will come across a number of exotic birds and some animals. Some of the wildlife found here are the great pied hornbills, black panthers, slender loris, king cobras, and the giant squirrels. Also, a number of many other animals are found. Do stop at the charming and aptly named Bubble Pond. Kids will love this quaint water feature. The Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary is an extremely significant source of fresh water and known to be named after the Netravali which is an important tributary of the Zuari River.
Savari Waterfall is located in Sanguem Taluka in Eastern Goa. It is an amazing Waterfall requiring jungle walk along with mountain Climbing to reach. Any time during the year is the best time to visit this lovely waterfall. The Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary is home to many highly endangered wild species. The other rare and notable animals include Black Panthers, Great Pied Hornbills, King Cobras, Giant Squirrels, and Slender Loris. Apart from these wildlife species, you can also see a number of other animals also.
- The one-way time is about 45 mins and if you want to spend a good time at the waterfall, you should budget for 3 hours at the minimum.
- The forest department restricts the entry after 3:30 pm in the afternoon, so you need to start early.
- Things to carry: Mosquito repellent, Binocular, Camera, Pair of extra shoes (optional), Torch, A hiking pole or wooden walking stick
- You need to carry your own food. There an option of having food at Tanshikar spice farm nearby which provides excellent food.
