About
Baga beach is a beautiful beach that is located at the northern end of Calangute beach. The beach is located 9 kms. from Mapusa and 20 kms. from Panaji. Baga beach is a popular beach in North Goa. Baga Beach is a small beach located between its two more famous cousins, Anjuna and Calangute. Baga was originally an extension of Calangute Beach. The beach is protected by the rocky headlands. Being a fishing beach, boats, nets and other fishing equipment are often laid on the sand when not in use, lending an old fashioned charm to this small beach. Apart from the common beach activities and delicious foodstuff Baga beach also offers a prospect to enjoy storm waves between January and March. Calangute Baga Beach is believed as the flagship seashore of Goa. A safe place for tourists, Calangute Baga Beach was past a fishing parish which was a scorching blemish for hippies in the later years of the 90s. This beach has a creek at one end and is frequented by locals for fishing. Every year thousands of national as well as international tourists flock this beach. Being a popular beach it is always crowded. But one should make a trip to this beach to experience its beauty.
