Theerthodbhava is the phenomenon involving the appearance of holy water that happens at Brahma Kundike (pot) or fountain head of the pond located in Talakaveri. This water is considered holy, collected and preserved by locals while thousands of visitors take holy dip in Kaveri river to get blessed also known as Kaveri Tula Sankramana. Kaveri Tula Sankramana is celebrated during mid October (first day of Tula month as per Hindu calendar) at Talakaveri in Kodagu district. The river Kaveri is known to spring from the fountain head located in Talakaveri temple. Thousands of devotees arrive in Talakaveri and Bhagamandala to take holy baths in this water.
